This One Will Keep You Up at Night ✩✩✩✩

Watch the Sky, by Kirsten Hubbard, is one of the most suspenseful stories I have read in a long time. If you don't have time to keep reading, you will not be able to bear waiting to see what happens next. In the story, Jory's stepdad Caleb, insists that his family work long hours through the night to dig a shelter in the canyon on their property. According to Caleb, Jory's family cannot trust anyone, including "officials" such as teachers and policemen. Despite his grueling schedule, Jory makes friends at school, and weaves a web of lies to explain away his mysterious family. Will Jory have to live underground for months while a terrible event destroys everything he knows? Read the book to find out what happens.
